The constituents of the air are dense enough to form a protective barrier against most cosmic meteorites and radiation.

The friction of the air burns up small and fast-moving intruders, but large meteorites occasionally reach the ground and cause damage.

The air also absorbs most of the sun’s harmful radiation, although obviously enough heat energy reaches the surface to sustain life.

Air is a reservoir of breathable gases. Air is the window that shields life from deadly radiation. Air is the earth’s armour that protects against meteorite bombardments. Air is a blanket that keeps the earth warm. Air is the carrier of energy and water. Air is a garbage disposal system.
