Again, this model has nothing to do with any kit or ready-made model of the same name. It is entirely owner-built.

The slope doesn’t always provide enough lift, so a thermal glider is more appropriate. A 30 rubber and 100 m fishing line, gives me a high-start to gain sufficient altitude, which allows me to go for a glide away from the slope in search for a thermal.

This is were the eagles come into play. They probably see the model as a goose or similar bird, and sneak-in from behind and above. Then, suddenly, they dive out of the sky and try to grab the model.

A quick diving manoeuvre by the model does, however, prevent any disaster. Eagles, as opposed to falcons, aren’t very agile in the air.

Balsa wood construction.

V-tail and aileron control.

Wingspan of 3.2 m with a RG 15 airfoil.
