I was not happy with the performance of my small electric glider once the battery was empty. The model was simply too heavy.
I took the engine and the battery out, and ended up with a small and agile slope soarer. This is proof, that size doesn’t matter in this case - the model performed exceptionally well in all wind conditions.
There was just one minor drawback. The thin airfoil needed to be flown with reasonably high speed at all times, to avoid stalling.
With just 650 grams, the model is light enough to remain in the air in light winds, and to withstand the odd rough landing.
Balsa wood construction. V-tail and aileron control.
Wingspan of 1.5 m with a MH 30 airfoil of 7.00% thickness.
