Balsa wood construction.

Rudder, elevator and aileron control.

Wingspan of 3.2 m with a MH 30 airfoil of 7.84% thickness.

I had a major accident with the Cirrus model. The gears of an aileron servo broke, leading to a spiraling dive into the ground.

We model flyers always have a good excuse.

The fuselage survived somewhat intact, which allowed me to build a similar model, and to experiment with a different airfoil.

To design a stronger wing, I built it completely straight and in one piece. It just fit into the car from windscreen to the back of the boot.

A straight wing has, however, the disadvantage that one always has to give a good amount of rudder together with any aileron movement. It wasn’t much of a problem, though, but it induces more drag.
